Thyme Courage Ritual

For speaking your truth, facing fears, and standing in your power

This ritual is perfect before a big conversation, performance, or any moment that calls for bravery and clear expression.

Want to know more about Thyme?

You’ll Need:

  • A small bundle or pinch of dried Thyme

  • A blue or gold candle (for truth and courage)

  • A piece of paper and pen

  • Optional: a clear quartz or lapis lazuli stone

  • A safe, quiet space

Please practice safely. Do your research and whatever else necessary to ensure you have the best experience.

Tools/items are not always required. Your focus and intention can be used alone with any practice.

Ritual Steps:

1. Set the Space
Light your candle. Burn Thyme gently (or simply crush it between your palms and inhale its scent). Breathe deeply. Let the flame represent your inner fire.

2. Declare Your Intention
Say aloud or write:

"I call in the spirit of courage. I call in the strength of my truth. I stand firmly in who I am.”

3. Write What You Fear
On the paper, write down what’s making you feel afraid, small, or silent. Don’t filter, let it pour out.

4. Transform with the Flame
Hold the paper (safely!) near the candle. Say:
"This fear no longer controls me. I now choose courage."

Burn the paper in a fire-safe bowl or tear it into pieces and discard it.

5. Inhale Thyme, Exhale Doubt
Hold the Thyme to your chest or throat and say:
"With each breath, I grow stronger. I trust my voice. I speak with power and purpose.”

6. Close the Ritual
Blow out the candle. Carry Thyme with you or keep it near your workspace or altar as a reminder of your strength.

Take a few deep breaths. You might want to hold or smell a bit of dried Thyme as you write.

Let these guiding questions lead your reflection:

  • Where have I been holding back my voice or truth?

  • What fear is asking to be released or transformed?

  • What would it feel like to stand fully in my courage?

  • How can I honor my inner fire in small, practical ways today?

“Where in my life am I ready to speak more boldly, live more fully, or reclaim my inner strength?”

Let your words be your medicine. Write freely, without judgment. Let Thyme’s ancient spirit remind you that you are powerful, worthy, and already enough.
